Who Will Win State of Origin in 2022

With a number of players named for their State of Origin debuts for both teams, the 2022 series looks both exciting and unpredictable. The New South Wales Blues were dominant winners of the series last year, winning the first two matches while the Queensland Maroons gained some confidence with a consolation win in the dead rubber game 3. The Build-Up New South Wales has won three of the last four State of Origin series and are favourite to extend that recent in 2022. Blues coach Brad Fittler is at the helm for the third year and has made some interesting selection decisions. First-year Queensland coach Billy Slater has included a number of debutants, some from the resurgent NRL teams of the Cowboys and Broncos. Bet Types There are a number of betting markets available on Rugby League matches and the State of Origin 2022. Some of the main ones are listed below: Head-to-Head Betting is the simplest bet type. Will the Blues or Maroons win? You pick one team and place a bet on them to win the match. If they win, you win! Line Betting involves placing a bet on an outcome based on how the bookmaker has handicapped the game. For example, a wager on the NSW +3.5 is a bet on the Blues to either Win the match or not lose by more than 3. Series Bets are a great way to stay involved with the whole State Of Origin Series. Will one team win 3-0 or are we in for a tight 2-1 tussle? No team has won 3-0 since 2010. Total Points can also garner good returns, and they are generally viewed as an over/under market. How many points will the two teams score combined in their match? The first match in every origin series is normally a high-pressure low scoring dour encounter. Will that trend continue in 2022? Exotic & Prop Bets have exploded in popularity in recent years and are a great way to enjoy the Origin matches. It is a bet on the outcome of an event/s or a player’s performance in a particular game. NSW Blues star Nathan Cleary has won a man of the match award before and is a $5.50 favourite to win again in game 1 this year. Can he turn it on in front of his crowd? Preview Both teams are in a transition phase with Queensland rebuilding after the retirements of some of the all-time greats of the game. The Blues are missing some of their own stars with Latrell Mitchell and Tom Trbojevic both out injured. How will the recent inclusions to both teams handle the step up to Origin speed? Historically, the Maroons have flourished on the big stage, but that has been when accompanied by experienced players such as Allan Langer, Wally Lewis, Darren Lockyer and Cameron Smith. The Blues have the experienced Brad Fittler as a coach and will be full of confidence after last year’s win. They also host game 1 and can get off to a winning start. They must win at home to have any chance to win the series. Tip The Maroons find an extra leg in origin matches. They will be competitive in game 1 in Sydney before winning on neutral territory in the West. Then it is off to Fortress Suncorp for game 3. Queensland 2-1 @ $3.20 looks the value.
